Chris Maguire, modern-day button accordion player, hails from Derrygonnelly, Co. Fermanagh. Although well-known from a young age with a maturity beyond his years, Chris shot to fame after being crowned All-Ireland Senior Button Accordion Champion in 2013 and continued his success as the driving force behind the Knockmore Ceili Band who claimed their own title in Sligo in 2014. Chris has toured extensively with Comhaltas over Ireland, Britain, and North America in 2012. Most recently, he represented Ireland in Luxembourg having won the Senior All-Ireland Trio title in 2019. Chris has several Irish and international television and radio appearances to his credit including ‘Geantrai’ and the B.B.C’s Blás Ceol. He enjoys spreading his love for Irish Traditional Music amongst young musicians through teaching at various festivals and summer schools across Ireland and further afield.
